Montrose “Monty” Justice, the 84-year-old co-founder of “Monty’s Plant Food” filmed a commercial for his unique plant booster and visited with customers Saturday at Lee’s Garden Center in Hodgenville.
The LaRue County 4-H Garden Club was part of the program as Lee’s owners, Scotty and Robin Lee, shared gardening advice and provided free vegetable plants to the children. Justice added a sample bottle of “Monty’s Joy Juice” to each bag of tomato, okra and cantaloupe plants.

Musical performers, speakers and informative programs will highlight the 73rd annual co-op meeting of Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation Friday. Festivities commence at 5 p.m. June 10 at John Hardin High School.  

For musical entertainment, LaRue County native and rising Nashville star, Clay Underwood, will sing.

“We are very excited about having him perform at the annual meeting,” said Patsy Whitehead, Nolin Communications coordinator.

Tammie Jenkins has been selected as the May Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform in Hodgenville.

Jenkins has been employed with Nationwide since July 1981 and is under the supervision of Shirley Cobb in the trouser department.

She will receive an award for her dedication and service.

Paul Davis Emergency Services has opened to serve customers in Clarksville and Hopkinsville and communities in Christian and Montgomery counties. Becky Jansen is the general manager and brings industry knowledge and management skills to the company. Also, Gary Brown will serve as lead supervisor for the Paul Davis crews. Brown has many years of experience in the construction industry.
