AT&T is expanding its mobile broadband network in Hodgenville and parts of LaRue County, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and video content to customers in the area.
Cathy Lewandowski, senior public relations manager for AT&T Strategic Communications, said the company is adding new cell sites, upgrading hundreds of others and deploying fiber optic cable to boost capacity across the state.
“More and more people depend on our technology to stay connected,” she said.

An educator, a pair of sports-minded men and one of LaRue County’s oldest businesses were among those honored Thursday night as the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce conducted its annual awards banquet at First Baptist Church.
Paul Mullins, principal at LaRue County High School, was named Outstanding Citizen of the Year. Mullins was praised for his positive attitude and the improvements made at the high school as he led faculty and students through the Laptops of LaRue project.

Brian Wood of Hodgenville recently accepted a position with the Kentucky State Police. Wood joined the ranks as a Kentucky State Police officer assigned to Region 2 of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcment Division. Region 2 is based in Louisville and covers 27 counties.
