Starting today, some homeowners who are “under water” with their mortgages can refinance under the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP), but the BBB is warning consumers that banks and mortgage companies aren’t the only ones gearing up for the rush of applications. Whenever there is a new or updated government program that may be confusing, scammers come out of the woodwork! There are already hundreds of websites claiming to be able to help homeowners through the HARP process, but many of them are scams.

The American Coin Buyers Guild will be at Hampton Inn, 985 Chambers Blvd., Bardstown, through Dec. 3.

The Guild is looking for items such as coins and paper currency issued prior to 1965, gold items including class rings, mismatched earrings, broken necklaces, gold coins and bullion.

Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Construction workers bricked the front of McDonald’s in Hodgenville last week. The fast food restaurant has removed its playground in order to expand the inside seating area and add another order window. According to Land of Lincoln Planning and Zoning, the building is expanding by 454-square feet.
