  • COLUMN: Farm Safety Symposium made you think

     I attended the 20th Dixie Fire School’s Farm Safety Symposium on March 8 in Elizabethtown. The program was very impressive. LaRue County FFA member Ashley Cottrell was part of a regional FFA team to plan and conduct the program.

     Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Emmy Award-winning television program, Bluegrass & Backroads, will celebrate its 10th season on the air, and third year in the broadcast lineup of Kentucky Educational Television, beginning March 23.

  • Conservation District honors several at banquet

     Several residents were honored at the LaRue County Water and Soil Conservation District banquet last month.

  • 4-H and Magnolia Fire Department split Monsanto funds

     The LaRue County 4-H and Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department will now be able to better support their causes as well as serve their communities, thanks to the support of local farmer, Caleb Ragland, and America’s Farmers Grow Communities.

    Sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of Monsanto Company, Grow Communities provides farmers in eligible counties the chance to win a $2,500 donation for a local nonprofit organization of their choice.
