  • 2015 county corn variety plot results

The LaRue County Extension Service annually conducts a corn variety test plot in cooperation with a local farmer and participating grain dealers. The cooperator for 2015 was Fresh Start Farms operated by Ryan Bivens. Seed companies supply seed (limit of two varieties), assist at planting and harvest, and sponsor a field day.

Farmers can use this yield information, along with the Kentucky Hybrid Corn Performance Test, and other plot data to help decide which varieties to grow next year.
