LaRue County Farm Bureau was honored as one of the five winners in the 2013 Kentucky Farm Bureau County Activities of Excellence program. All five recipients of the award were recognized during the Dec. 5 general session of KFB’s annual meeting in Louisville.
The LaRue County Extension Service annually conducts corn and soybean variety plots in cooperation with a local farmer and participating grain dealers. Corn plot results were recently released. This week we will look at the soybean results. They, too, were in cooperation with Fresh Start Farms.
Biven Turner, great-grandson of Charles “Red” and Phyllis Hazle, weighed tomatoes on the scale for a customer at Hazle Farm Supply, as his younger brother, Baines, watches. The long-time Hodgenville business closed last month.
