Smiles for life

A program that is basically a dental hygienist on wheels has been started by the Lincoln Trail District Health Department. A grant-funded van, “the Smile Travelers,” will soon be making routine visits to area schools.

According to Diana Leathers, LaRue County community health educator, the vehicle will travel almost every day of the school year. It will visit all schools in the district, which covers LaRue, Nelson, Hardin, Marion, Meade and Washington counties. Leathers said as soon as a school officially invites them, they are ready to begin operation.
