LaRue County Sheriff Russell McCoy said the deputy who fired the shots is currently on paid administrative leave.

What initially started out as a routine traffic stop ended up in a high speed chase and an officer involved shooting on Wednesday, April 18.

Jeff Gregory, Public Affairs Officer with KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown, said the incident started around 3 p.m. on Ferrill Hill Road in Buffalo when a LaRue County deputy sheriff attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspect.
