  • Horace Barbour was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital Saturday night. He is in ICU. The family requests the prayers from the community, family and friends.

    This past Sunday was communion Sunday at First Baptist and at Lane Lincoln, Elder Vincent Farris was the guest at Lane Lincoln for Advent Sunday, followed by Communion.

    Happy anniversary to Carl and Janice Brazley who celebrated their anniversary on Tuesday.

    Hodgenville Woman’s Club

    The Hodgenville Woman’s Club is hosting an International Cookie Showcase from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 2 at the clubhouse. Cookies will be sold six for $5 or a dozen for $10. Cookies from all around the world will be featured as well as traditional choices such as chocolate chip and sugar.

  • Choir holiday gift wrapping

    The LCHS Choir is having a holiday wrapping fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 in the choir room behind the high school gym. The event will include gift wrapping, music performances, hot chocolate and other holiday foods. All donations are welcome and the suggested donations are one gift wrapped for $2, five gifts wrapped for $10 and ten or more gifts wrapped for $20. Those interested are asked to bring their own boxes and everything else is provided.

    The deadline for the Piggy Bank Contest is Friday, December 1. Please turn banks in to the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. on that day. If you need details about the rules of the contest, please call 270-358-3401.

     4-H Awards banquet

    The Annual 4-H Awards Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4 at the Extension Office. 4-Hers that completed record books and award points will be recognized. The meal is potluck. Please RSVP by calling 270-358-3401 by Wednesday, November 29.
