  • Anxiety and depression affect over 40 million adults in the United States annually, almost 20 percent of our total population. Recently, I got to sit down with Savannah Clemons, a professional counselor, and talk with her through the subject of depression. Here are some excerpts from our discussion:

Is it wrong to take psychotropic medicines like antidepressants?

  •  Once we are born again into the family of God, He desires that we grow spiritually. II Peter 3:18 tells us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Jesus pleased God because of His growth. Luke 2:52 tells us, “He increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” No wonder God said in Matthew 3:17, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

  • Thought for the week: You are part of a puzzle in someone else’s life. You may never know where you fit. But someone’s life may never be complete without you in it.

  • This past Sunday was Communion Sunday at First Baptist and Lane Lincoln. That afternoon, The Hodgenville Brotherhood provided music for Siberia Baptist Church for their Annual Family Day.

Congratulations to the LaRue County Football Team who are now 7-0.

This Thursday at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal at First Baptist.

There will be a Fall Revival at Sunrise Manor Nursing home on October 11-13 starting at 7 p.m. each night.

  • Thought for the week: Don’t wait for things to get easier, simpler or better. Life will always be complicated. Learn to be happy right now. Otherwise, you’ll run out of time.
