    Daniel Enlow of Glendale was awarded a 4.0 Medallion from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College for achieving a perfect grade point average. He was one of only four graduating students to receive the award.

  • Akin earns bachelor of arts degree from WKU

    Taylor Lyn Akin earned a bachelor of arts degree in music education – integrated P-12 from Western Kentucky University in May. He graduated cum laude with honors.

    Akin, a 2009 graduate of LaRue County High School, is the son of Sherry and Doug Akin. He plans to pursue a career in music education.

  • Skaggs receives $500 Leadership Scholarship

    Kayla Michelle Skaggs, a 2013 graduate of LaRue County High School, is the recipient of the $300 Leadership LaRue County Scholarship given annually by the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce. 

    Kayla, the daughter of Steve and Sandy Skaggs of Magnolia, plans to attend the University of Kentucky in the fall and pursue a career in business marketing education. This college track includes a four-year major in business marketing and pursing a master’s in education to be eligible to teach at a secondary school.

  • Holt earns $500 scholarship from Hogenville Woman's Club

    Haley Holt is the recipient of the Hodgenville Woman’s Club $500 scholarship.

    Holt, a 2013 graduate of LaRue County High School, is the daughter of Sandy and Tony Holt.

    She has been involved in the Community Service Club, Lady Hawks Basketball and Volleyball teams, Class Committee and yearbook.

    She plans to attend Lindsey Wilson College and pursue a career in physical therapy.

  • Hodgenville Post Office gets new paint

     Hodgenville Post Office received a fresh coat of paint on its roof Thursday. Postmaster James Senig said an inspection in September indicated the need for “priming and painting” the roof panels.

     Lea Hutcherson and Cory Bales are pleased to announce their upcoming marriage on June 8, 2013, at LaRue County Sportsman Lake in Hodgenville.

    The bride to be is the daughter of Lee and Michelle Hutcherson and Billie McIntyre. 

    The prospective groom is the son of Joey and Vickie Bales.

    What causes hatred?  

    Hatred comes from following our own sinful desires (Galatians 5:19-23).

    Is hating ever appropriate for God’s people? We see throughout Scripture that numerous situations elicited God’s hatred: idolatry among his people, injustice, oppression of the weak and poor, abuse of the marriage covenant and the dishonoring of his own name.
