  • Army Pfc. Charles E. Davis II has graduated from One Station Unit Training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga. The training consisted of basic military training and advanced individual training.

    Davis is a 2000 graduate of LaRue County High School.

  • A performance of period music is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 in the auditorium of the Visitors Center at Abraham Lincoln National Historic Park.

    The performers are Anne Milligan, Cortney Gilbert and Adrienne Gilbert. They will offer a series of 15-minute sets between showing of the park’s documentary film.

    The entertainment is free.

  • Did you know that women over age 55 tend to have higher cholesterol levels than men? Elevated blood cholesterol is one of three major risk factors for coronary heart disease. Cigarette smoking and high blood pressure are the other two. All women older than 20 should have their cholesterol checked by their doctor.
