  • Prime Time Band to perform
    A dance will be held 7-10 p.m. March 16 at the LaRue County Senior Center, 112 N. Walters Ave., Hodgenville.     EHLRTA to meet

  • The American Dietetic Association, the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, officially changed its name to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on Jan. 1. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in existence since 1917 as the American Dietetic Association, after working to feed the troops healthfully during World War I, continues its nearly 100 year mission of commitment to improving the nation’s health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.

  • Parkinson’s Support Group
    The Parkinson’s Support Group will meet 4 p.m. March 15 at HealthSouth Lakeview Rehabilitation Hospital, 134 Heartland Drive, Elizabethtown. The topic is Pharmacology and Parkinson’s Disease. For more information, call Marcie Britain at 769-3100, Ext. 357.

    LaRue County Diabetes Support Group
    The LaRue County Diabetes Support Group will meet 6:30-7:30 p.m. March 15 in the rear meeting room of the LaRue County Extension Office.

  •  Ovesen Heights Baptist Church open during severe weather

  •  Ashley Reding of Homestead Family Farms in Howardstown was the featured speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the Hodgenville Rotary Club. She spoke to the club about how she became involved in farming, her daily routine at the farm, and about CommonGround. She was the guest of Rotarian Alex LaRue, left.

  •  Lucas Pepper and Steven Willman, two members of local Boy Scout Troop 151, received their Eagle Scout badges, the highest rank attainable in scouting, Feb. 26 at a ceremony at Harvestland Community Church near Hodgenville.

  •  Glen Rice, Family and Friends Musical Concert will be 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Performing Arts Center at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.

    Besides Rice, performers include Ron Benningfield, Eddie Black, Glenn Williams, Rick Durham, Mike Ash, Camille Turner, Freddy Helm and Tony Cooke.

    Guests are Ryne Brashear, Mike Boughey, Pat Portman, Allie Shae Hash and Harold Hutchins.

    Performers in the “Future Stars” segment are Josh Proctor, Lena Aldridge, Joseph Williams, Kristi Brady and Nick Cambron.

  •  Wesley Meadows United Methodist Church, along with nine other teams in the league, participated in a dartball tournament March 9 at Memorial United Methodist Church.

    The team competed against Summit Methodist, White Mills Baptist and College Heights Methodist, winning all three games. For the championship, they lost to Stovall Methodist.

    All dartball games are played on Mondays, October through March. The rules for dartball are similar to baseball. For more information, contact Bro. Wallace Votaw at 325-3740.
