    VBS at Lincoln Memorial

  • First Baptist Hodgenville was the host of the 145th South District Association last week. This was the third time the church hosted the event. It was also the 128th Sunday School and B.T.U. Convention, 74th Youth Conference, and the 77th Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. The theme was “One Master, One Foundation, Many Plans,” taken from 1 Corinthians 3:1-11.

  • Recently my wife and I received a get well card from the Okesons that contained these words: “May you always be … A mind through which Christ thinks; A heart through which Christ loves; A voice through which Christ speaks; A hand through which Christ helps.”
    These words describe the “godly life” that Paul speaks of and challenges Timothy to live (2 Timothy 3:10-17).

  •  J.C. and Naomi Ragland will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary June 20, 2013.

    They were married June 20, 1953, in Buffalo by Rev. E.W. Godbey.

    They have three children: Darrell Ragland of Bolivia, Dwayne Ragland of Elizabethtown and Malinda Logsdon of Magnolia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

  •  Daniel and Casey Sidebottom of Hodgenville announce the birth of a son, Camden Ryder Sidebottom, on May 18, 2013 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    Camden Ryder weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 20-inches long.

    He is welcomed home by a sister, Raegan.

    Maternal grandparents are Dwayne and Debbie Whitlock of Hodgenville.

    Paternal grandparents are Tony and Laurinda Sidebottom of New Haven.

  •  Mr. and Mrs. Mark Skaggs of Mount Sherman announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Bethany Ann Skaggs, to Alexander Blake Bush, son of Dewayne and Donna Bush of Hart County.

    The wedding is 3:30 p.m. July 6, 2013, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Mount Sherman.

    The bride to be is a full-time student at Lindsey Wilson College.

    The prospective groom is a 2012 graduate of Hart County High School and is employed at Publishers Printing in Shepherdsville.

    They will make their home in Hart County.
