United Way of Central Kentucky beat all previous records by raising $1,031,200 through its annual campaign, according to campaign chair Marilyn Ford. Donations continued to roll in until the last day of the fundraising drive on Feb. 29.
"Our goal was very lofty, significantly higher than what we raised last year,” said Ford. “Because of the generosity of citizens from our five county area, we have surpassed that goal. I couldn't be more pleased."
