  • A Crucified Life

The Christian life is the happiest and most fulfilling life that a man can live, but it is no bed of roses.  The Apostle Paul says it is a spiritual battle until you are taken home to heaven (Ephesians 6:10-20).  To live it rightly means one must make a full and complete surrender to God’s will.

  • What is with the rocks?

Have you experienced the “LaRue County Rocks” craze yet? It not, it is simply a hide and seek rock-painting and rock-hunting experience that thousands are following across our county. Did you know there is a time-honored, Bible-described pattern for using rocks?

  •  A Christian Disposition

The sins of disposition can cancel your influence for Christ.  They are perhaps the most neglected and misunderstood of all the problems involved in living the Christian life.

Many people are not even aware that it is possible for one to pay his debts, contribute to charitable organizations, attend church every Sunday, and still be ill-natured, arrogant, fault-finding and vulgar.  In other words, the sins of the spirit are just as bad as the sins of the flesh and many times more subtle and dangerous.

  • Evangelist Jerry Monday coming to LaRue Baptist Church

Brother Monday has played with several well known Bluegrass and country music stars on the Grand Ole Opry in the 50’s and 60’s. Upon his conversion to Christ, he dedicated his musical talents completely to the Lord.

  • Living in Boldness
  • Let Us Trust God

Worry is a common subject and touches all people at one time or another. It is defined as “unease, allowing one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.” Some synonyms would be “fret, be anxious, agonize, brood, panic, lose sleep, get worked up.” Do any of these sound familiar?

Henry Ward Beecher said, “It is not work that kills men, it is worry. Work is healthy, but you can hardly put more on a man than he can bear. Worry is rust upon the blade. It is not the revolution that destroys the machinery, but the friction.”

  • Bearing Fruit

Twice while in Florida, we drove 19 miles to a large outdoor flea market in Deland, which had every kind of fruit and vegetable I knew about and much more.  The temptation was always to return to Dayton Shores with more than we could use before it went bad.  But people came by the droves and left with their carts loaded down.
