  • A life can open or close a door

  • Sex

    By Jonathan Carl

Sex. That three letter word stirs up a variety of feelings and emotions. It is often a taboo word for serious conversation but yet fills our eyes, ears, and minds through the media around us. Our cultural backgrounds and life experience largely shape our understanding of and opinions on the topic. But what does God say about sex? He has a lot to say on the topic and we ought to listen for He is the one who designed and created it.

  • Handling failure

Failure can be a jarring experience.  But failure does not have to be final.  Defeat does not have to be devastating.  Jesus taught us this when He said to Simon Peter “Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brothers” (Luke 22:31-32).

  • Nothing but God

Once there was a woman with nothing. No husband, no money, no food, no income, no prospects of anything getting better .... nothing.  She had two sons and her creditors were coming to take them as slaves.  In her nothingness, she came to a prophet of God.  She shared with him her story (2 Kings 4:1-7).

  • The battle of temptation

    By Paul Richie

Every individual is at war against temptation. In some form or fashion, temptation creeps at the door of life and attempts to enter. It masquerades around as beautiful and desirable to prey upon the ambition, appetites, and aesthetic gaze of men and women.

  • Ten Truths About Forgiveness

Forgiveness is hard. Our hurts are real, often deep, and frequently long-lasting. Bitterness and un-forgiveness are more present and dangerous than we realize

Forgiveness Requires Confession. Before we can “get right” with people, we must “be right” with God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

  • Living Today

The Psalmist said, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).  This is a prescription for the soul, which can give zest, sparkler and determination to your life.

We promise ourselves tomorrow, projecting our joys, opportunities, and even our living into the future.  Some endure the present waiting for a better time tomorrow.  But dreams of tomorrow should not rob us of today.
