  • Take upward steps in the Christian life

King David was “a man after God’s own heart.” His life was not perfect, but he loved God with all the fervor of his soul. He had one great ambition – build a great temple for the Lord. David kept this dream alive in his heart through the years. Now we see him as an old man who does not have many years on this earth.

  • How does your life compare with the greatest one of all?

I love to study the life stories of great men and since I am a minister, I love the outstanding men of the Bible. For example, Abraham who was known as “the friend of God;” Joseph, “the best man of the Old Testament;” Moses, “the greatest man in the Old Testament.” Most of all, I like to study “the greatest life of all – the Lord Jesus Christ.”

  • Your destiny is ruling with Christ

Revelation 5:1-10 “And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.”

  • Live by the spirit's power

Advice is given by the Apostle Paul to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this conflict.

  • 'Know the real joy of good living'

“Know the real joy of good living.”

A beer commercial stated that the way to discover real living was to drink their brand. There are many others who would disagree and say the way to real living is service to others. Jesus would agree with the last statement. He said while on earth, “In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these, you have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:45). One of our hymns caught the meaning of this verse. It is titled simply, “Others.”

  • God cannot be limited by man

The man who limits God simply does not know God. Do you think anything is too hard for God? If your answer is yes, you need to revise your thinking. The Bible says “with God all things are possible.”

Sennacherib and his mighty army came against Hezekiah, the King of Judah. He wrote an insulting letter to Hezekiah. Hezekiah went to God’s house and spread the letter out before God and asked God to save Judah.
