  • Be wise with your time

Time limits every individual. All of us live within a twenty-four-hour day and most days you probably feel rushed or like too many items have gone unmet. Part of handling this issue centers on our stewardship of time. In Ephesians 5:15-16 the Apostle Paul wrote, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.”

  • Depression - Part 4

Recently, I got to sit down with Savannah Clemons, a professional counselor, and talk with her through the subject of depression. Here are some excerpts from our discussion:

  • Live Today

The Psalmist said, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). This is a prescription for the soul that can give zest, sparkle and determination to your life.

We promise ourselves tomorrow projecting our joys, opportunities, and even our living into the future. Others endure the present waiting for a better time tomorrow, but dreams of tomorrow should not rob us of today.

  • Growth that pleases our Father

Once we are born again into the family of God, He desires that we grow spiritually. II Peter 3:18 tells us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Jesus pleased God because of His growth. Luke 2:52 tells us, “He increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” No wonder God said in Matthew 3:17, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Recently, I got to sit down with Savannah Clemons, a professional counselor, and talk with her through the subject of depression. Here are some excerpts from our discussion:

  • Soldiers of Christ

Since 1917 when it was written, many men in the army have sung, “You’re in the army now. You’ll never get rich by digging a ditch. You’re in the army now.”

Even longer than that, believers --- men, women, boys and girls --- have sung, “We’re in the Lord’s army.” The Apostle Paul told the Ephesians in 6:10-20 they were soldiers of Christ, and that they were to “be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.”
