 On Oct. 26, a woman named Terri married the man of her dreams, and on Nov. 12, her new husband, Mike, went in for surgery for a lump on his jaw and had 9/10 of his tongue removed.

Mike is dying from oral cancer, slowly and painfully.

I’ve been following their saga on Facebook. It is both incredibly sad and filled with sweetness and an ultimate happily-ever-after ending.

 The LaRue County Church of Christ’s food pantry will give away food 9:30 a.m. to noon March 22 and 6-7 p.m. March 27 to those who qualify. The church is located on Old E’town Road, Hodgenville.

 In the time we are living, many of us are choked by anxieties.

Our lives are characterized by feelings of uneasiness, apprehension, dread, concern, tension, restlessness and worry. Our brains record specific memories and emotions that are stored and can be replayed today in as vivid a form as when they occurred. We are reacting not only to the current day stresses, but also to the repressed emotions of childhood. 

 Time is precious. We are not on this earth very long. One day you start to flip the switch and turn the light on, but you find the bulb is shot. This will happen in life.

So, each of us should seek to make the most of the time that we have. We can do this by making most of our walk with God. James 4:14-16 asks the question, “What is your life?” He goes ahead to say among other things that it is a vapor that appears for a short time and then vanishes into the air.
