  • Bearing Fruit

Twice while in Florida, we drove 19 miles to a large outdoor flea market in Deland, which had every kind of fruit and vegetable I knew about and much more.  The temptation was always to return to Dayton Shores with more than we could use before it went bad.  But people came by the droves and left with their carts loaded down.

  • Elias Wins

On Friday, Elias Michael Clemons was born. On Saturday, Elias died. Today and forever, Elias wins.

Job 1:21 “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

Elias wins. No one wants to bury their child. No one desires such suffering. So many questions, worries, fears and hurts. In the most difficult and darkest of days, one answer matters. God’s will. God is in control, even when life is so seemingly out of control. God is so good and worthy of our trust. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

  • Being under the Blood

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). Without blood there cannot be life in the physical body. This is also true in the Bible. Blood flows through the Bible just as it does through the veins of our body. The late W. A. Criswell authored many books, one of which was titled, The Scarlet Thread. He shows how the thread than ran from Genesis to Revelation was the blood of Jesus.

  • Alcohol?

Should we? Or shouldn’t we? The introduction of alcohol sales into our community is a touchy and sensitive topic, but it is an important topic.

We need to consider all aspects of the discussion and treat differing opinions with respect, regardless of the outcome. Our community must make a decision that considers the greater good while minimizing the bad.

Did you know that the Bible has much to say about alcohol? Before soliciting human opinions, let us pay attention to what God has to say first.

  • Life as a child of God

Everyone can be redeemed by the blood of Christ.  Everyone can become a child of God for “Whosoever will may come.” Everyone must come on God’s terms for Jesus says, “Ye must be born again.” We are a creature of God, but when we trust Christ as our Savior we become a child of God (John 1:11-12).
