 Members of Hodgenville Christian Church held a fundraiser yard sale Saturday. Proceeds will be used to finish their annex on Lincoln Square. Most of the items were donated from the estate of a church member. The church raised $1,100 last weekend and will repeat the yard sale Saturday.

 Contentment is learned. It does not come instantaneously. The situations of life are the schoolhouse for learning contentment. 

But some people never learn to be contented and the result is their lives are unfulfilled, unsatisfied and unhappy.

The Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:11-19 gives four insights into contentment.  First, Paul says learn not to compare yourself to others.

Free yard sale by Sonora United Methodist

Mount Tabor homecoming

This verse gives us two specific instructions: wait for the Lord and put your hope in his word.

So many times we want to rush ahead of the Lord. We think we know what action to take and how to proceed, but the Bible clearly instructs us to wait for the Lord to work, to instruct and to lead.
