  • What have I done?

God sent Jeremiah to preach repentance to the people and warn them of the wrath to come.  Jeremiah saw how good God was to His people, but in spite of this he saw the people’s sin and idolatry.  The result was that Jeremiah wept with a broken heart.  He listened for the people to seek God’s forgiveness, but no one sought the Lord in repentance.  No one cried out, “What have I done”? (Jeremiah 8:6).

  • The Truth About Eternity

    By Paul Richey

Eternity is a reality for everyone. Each individual will spend eternity in one of two locations, heaven or hell. Unfortunately, many Americans have fallen prey to a plethora of deceptions that have blocked this truth from our minds and as a result many have fallen prey to sloppy understanding of what lies ahead. The truth is, each of us will exist forever and that location of existence will be based on our response to Jesus Christ.

Revival at Rolling Fork Christian Church

  • A wonderful place to be

We have a wonderful spiritual position as believers in Christ that Paul simply describes as being “in Christ”.  In the past our sins have been forgiven.  Presently, we have a daily companion in the Holy Spirit.  And in the future we have an eternal home in heaven.  Can you think of a better spiritual position for the Christian other than being at home with the Savior?

  • Cursed or Blessed?

    By Jonathan Carl
    Guest Columnist

Have you ever felt like nothing can seem to go right in your life? Like everything is just working against you that particular day, week, month or year? Like you were cursed, doomed, or without hope? Sometimes our intuition is more accurate than we realize.

We are all cursed. That sounds pretty negative. But it is the default reality for all of humanity. Death is inevitable. Judgment is sure. Guilt is evident.

  • Historic church celebrates Homecoming

As I drove throughout the county with my mother Mary Smith and aunt Arneva Smith, I visited Mount Salem Baptist Church during their annual homecoming services on July 10. The church is located near three county lines, LaRue, Hart and Green Counties.

When we arrived on the church grounds we were greeted with smiles, handshakes and hugs from the congregation. Mount Salem is a small community that consist of friendly people that demonstrated love, compassion and fellowship.

  • Facing Whatever

Recently the devotion said that trouble will come.  I’m thankful for the positive response by some readers and want to add some additional thoughts on the subject for handling trouble.  How we respond to things that come into our lives is very important. Our response will reveal our character.  We can be all smiles in the sunshine, but the dark days and times of trouble reveals our true inner self. Will we weather the storms because we have done a good job in building on the proper foundation and used good material in construction?
