  • Cooking corner - May 10, 2017 - Samoas Cookie Pie

    1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 stick, melted

    1 large egg

    1/2 cup light brown sugar packed

    1 tsp vanilla extract

    1 1/4 cups all purpose flour

    1/4 tsp salt

    3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, for sprinkling

    1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut loosely laid in cup not packed

    2/3 of one 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk about 10 ounces

    4-5 ounces caramel sauce

    3/4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips, melted for drizzling

    Our sympathy goes out to the family of Donald Thurman who passed away a couple of weeks ago. The gravesite services were last Wednesday morning at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

    First Baptist- This Thursday at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal.

    Lane Lincoln- May 17 through May 19 will be the Louisville/Lexington District revival. May 17 at 7 p.m. will be at Lane Lincoln with guest speaker Reverend DeWayne GoLightly and this Friday at 7 p.m., Reverend Aaron Moss will be speaking at Miles Memorial in Louisville.

    Another prom has come and gone. I loved seeing all the pictures on Facebook. I can’t believe it’s time for graduation, which falls this year on my birthday, May 19. What a great day!

  • LaRue County Relay for Life 2017

    It’s a Homecoming Anniversary for LaRue County’s Relay for Life on Saturday, June 3 on the square in downtown Hodgenville from 2 p.m. until midnight. The local Relay for Life will celebrate its twenty year anniversary with games, vendors, entertainment, and various team activities, but they need the community’s help by coming out and joining in the fun.
