    Thought for the week: People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

    I started to do my column last Sunday night when it dawned on me, double snap, there was an early deadline on Friday, September 1. That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Thanks to Editor Doug Ponder for emailing to check on me. It was greatly appreciated.

    Lorriane Embree was admitted to the hospital in Detroit, Michigan last week. Joyce Embree Hosea is ill at home. Both are slowly improving.

    Sunday was the annual Homecoming at Second Baptist Church in Greensburg, Kentucky and the 140 Church Anniversary/Homecoming at Little Zion Baptist Church in Glendale, Kentucky which Reverend Wilkinson and First Baptist Hodgenville were the guest.

    Congratulations to Bryson Cobb and Shane King for their outstanding contributions to the LaRue County High School Football Team.

  • Druen-Druin Family Reunion a Success

    The Druen-Druin family reunion was held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Three Fork Bacon Creek fellowship building in Hammonsville, KY.

    Oldest man attending was James Edward Davis, age 85, son of late Everett and Marie Benningfield Davis. Oldest woman in attendance was Ora Shelton Cantrell, age 98, daughter of late Edward (Ed) and Napie Shelton. Youngest attendee was Mason Lyle Crain, son of Ellen Blakenship and Weston Crain.

  • Rolling Fork Iron Horse Festival is Saturday

    The 27th annual Rolling Fork Iron Horse Festival is Saturday, September 9 in downtown New Haven.

    The event will feature arts and crafts booths, food, car and truck show, concerts, games, inflatables and more. The inflatables will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the carnival games will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    A local artist art show will take place at the public library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A car and truck show will be held throughout the event and a silent auction will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
