All sugars, whether naturally occurring or added, affect the body similarly. Nutrition experts focus on reducing added sugars, such as in soft drinks or candy, because they don’t come with additional nutrients.
Fruits contain a lot of sugar, but they also deliver fiber, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. Americans average 475 calories a day from added sugars, or 123 grams, which is the equivalent of 30 teaspoons of sugar.

The Lady Legion of the Hodgenville American Legion will be having a fish fry from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday evening at the American Legion. Also, they will be having a yard sale starting at 8:00 a.m. All donations are welcomed.

This Sunday will be the Church Anniversary & Annual Homecoming at Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Campbellsville. The afternoon guest will be Reverend John C. Lee and his congregation from Bowling Green.
The Community Fellowship Picnic was a success as a few of the residents from Sunrise Manor attended the picnic. They really enjoyed themselves and we were very glad to have them. Congratulations to Brian and Sharon Smith on celebrating their 23rd anniversary last Saturday. Yvette Best was admitted to the emergency room and returned home recently.
