Santa’s Helpers will be having a yard sale to help raise money for new toys and batteries for Christmas from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 at the American Legion in Hodgenville. Junior Puyear, Alex LaRue and Jimmy Rogers are determined to start a trend for Relay for Life. The trio has tried unsuccessfully to host a car and tractor show for Relay for Life several times, but the rain always put a damper on the event. This Saturday at 4 p.m. will be a different story as the Relay for Life Car and Tractor Show makes its debut at the actual LaRue County Relay for Life event.
This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be Bible Study. The missionary meeting will be at noon on Saturday, June 4 at First Baptist.
This Sunday will be the annual homecoming at Second Christian Church in Columbia. The afternoon guest will be Reverend Michael Smith and his congregation of First Baptist in Bardstown and Reverend Kenny Carter, Sr. Pastor.

Alexander Goodsell is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Class of 2016. He is the son of Charles and Jeanne Goodsell. Following graduation he plans to begin residency in Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
Lorrie Michelle Benningfield daughter of James and Donna Benningfield has graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a minor in Biology. Honors include Order of Omega Cum Laude and Honors Program.
She is a member of the Block and Bridle club, Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Pre-Veterinarian Club.
Benningfield plans on attending Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
