The Lincoln Trail Area Development District Board of Directors will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at the Lincoln Trail ADD office in Elizabethtown.
The Annual LaRue County Extension Expo will be held on Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LaRue County High School Gymnasium. Approximately 75 local businesses and organizations are planning to participate. Relay for Life – Living Strong
The Relay for Life – Living Strong is having an Adopt-A-Relay Pig fundraiser where contestants can win a prize for the heaviest, most traveled, biggest bucks or best decorated plastic purple pig with relay donations. For more information call Kathy Ross at 270-234-3309.
The Hodgenville Woman’s Club will award $500 to a graduating high school senior attending school in LaRue County or an adult residing in LaRue County who plans to enroll or is enrolled in college or technical school for fall semester. Application will be considered on the basis of grade point average, financial need, and community and school involvement. Completion of a short essay describing career goals and need of scholarship will also be required.
Sunday was Communion Sunday at Lane Lincoln and First Baptist.
Last Sunday, Ms. Lovester Wilkinson and her daughter Carolyn Wilkinson of Stanford were the guests of our Black History Sunday at First Baptist. They are the mother and sister to our pastor Reverend Jerry Wilkinson. Ms. Lovester gave a presentation of the flag regarding the slave era and how they used them as a way to escape slavery to freedom. Her daughter Carolyn assisted her in displaying the various quilts that were made by Ms. Lovester.
The Lincoln Trail Service Providers will host an annual Senior Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at the Prichard Community Center in Elizabethtown.
