  • Nationwide: Employee of the Month

    Miranda Miller has been selected as the September Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform. We are proud to say Miranda has been employed with Nationwide since April of 2002 and is currently under the supervision of JoAnn Pearman in the trouser department. Miranda will receive a special award for her dedication and service.

    Last Sunday was Choir Day at Lane Lincoln. The afternoon guest was Daryl Montgomery along with Pastor Reverend Eddie Bigbee and congregation of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Franklin, Kentucky. Daryl was the former musician at Lane Lincoln and First Baptist.

    LaRue County Class of 1971

    The LaRue County High School class of 1971 will have their reunion at 5 p.m. on October 22 at Paula’s Hot Biscuit. The chili supper will be $15 per person. All classmates and spouses welcome.

    Bake sale

    A bake sale will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21 at Lincoln Way in Hodgenville. All proceeds go to the Fall Festival candidate Olivia Clark. For more information call April Clark at 270-234-3868.

    LaRue Co. Fire Dept. Open House

    The LaRue County Fire Department will have an open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 22 at their firehouse on East Water Street in Hodgenville. The open house will include fire safety demonstrations. Equipment will also be on display and handouts will be available.

    ALES Fall Festival

    Abraham Lincoln Elementary School will have a superhero theme Fall Festival. Students can come dressed as their favorite superhero. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. and games will be from 6 to 8 p.m. October 14. Food will be Charlie’s Hoagies and pizza. This event is open to the community.

    HES Fall Festival

    Hodgenville Elementary School PTSO will host a Disney Theme Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. October 14. They will have a silent auction, food, Kona Ice and games. This event is open to the community.

    This past weekend was the seventh retreat for our knitting group KYknitwits in Berea,KY. There were ten members present. It was beautiful weather, great fellowship and lots of laughter.

  • CKCAC to begin energy assistance

    Central Kentucky Community Action Council will begin the “Subsidy” portion of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that provides heating assistance to eligible households on November 11, 2016.

    The significant cost of energy to heat homes leaves many households unable to fully meet heating bills or purchase sufficient bulk fuel to keep their families safe and warm. Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc. stands ready to help.
