  • Cooking corner - July 5, 2017

     

    Nana-Nut Bread

    1 1/3 cups all purpose flour

    1/2 cup Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated

    1 tsp baking powder

    1/2 tsp baking soda

    pinch of salt

    1 tbsp canola oil

    1/3 cup reduced fat buttermilk

    2 tsp vanilla

    1 1/4 cups mashed bananas

    1/4 cup chopped walnuts

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

    Blend dry ingredients together.

    Mix oil, buttermilk and vanilla with bananas, pour into dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.

    I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July. Sunday, June 25 was Communion Sunday at Lane Lincoln and First Baptist.

    First Baptist- This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be Bible Study. This Thursday at 6 p.m. will be choir rehearsal.

    Hope everyone has a safe Fourth of July. It’s early deadline and I remembered it. Yeah, in fact I worked hard on getting my column together last Thursday and sent it in thinking last Friday was the early deadline. Stop laughing! At least I remembered. It wasn’t right week but I remembered.

  • Birth Announcement: Pickerell

    Nick and Jessica Pickerell of Hodgenville announce the birth of a son Cayson Dane-Ray Pickerell . He was born on May 28, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and was 19 inches long. Cayson is also welcomed home by his big sister, Ella Price Bain.

    Maternal grandparents are Donnie and Vickie Harris and maternal great-grandmother Doris Froedge all of Edmonton. Paternal grandparents are Lisa Pickerell and the late Dane Pickerell of Hodgenville.

    Class of 1967 Reunion

    The LaRue County High School Class of 1967 will celebrate it’s 50 year reunion on October 7 at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 730 Tonieville Rd. in Hodgenville.
