    The Friends of the Library donated Spanish for Kids: The Complete Collection - DVDs to the library in memory of Annetta Rafferty. Annetta was a member of the Friends of the Library.     Shanice Dunlap was baptized Sunday morning at First Baptist. Family members and friends were present for the baptism. Also, Bernice Kent, Loretta Kent and Corine Johnson, mother of Rosalyn Wilkinson, were guest at First Baptist.

    First Baptist- Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. will be the church business meeting. Sunday, August 30, First Baptist will fellowship with Lane Lincoln during morning services. The Hodgenville Brotherhood will render the music and the morning sermon will be by Reverend Wilkinson.

    LaRue County Public Library

    LaRue County Public Library will have a free class on Dehydrating Fruits and Vegetables. This will be on August 27 at 5 p.m. Call 270-358-6216 for more information.

    LaRue County Saddle Club

    The LaRue County Saddle Club will have their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m. at the arena in Hodgenville.

    Caramel Apple Cobbler

    1 box yellow cake mix

    2 cans apple pie filling

    1 jar caramel

    1 stick butter

    Butter 10x13 pan

    Pour apple filling into pan.

    Sprinkle dry cake mix over filling

    Drizzle with caramel

    Pour melted butter on top

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes

  • DuPlessis speaks at Lincoln Trail Chapter of Public Retirees

    The Lincoln Trail Chapter of Kentucky Public Retirees met at Golden Corral on Monday, August 10. State Representative Jim DuPlessis was the keynote speaker at the event. 

    The Lincoln Trail Chapter meets the second Monday of each month at Golden Corral in Elizabethtown at 11:30 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 14. The speaker will be State Representative Terry Mills. Mills is the representative for Green, Marion and LaRue Counties.

  • 4-H Calendar - October 7, 2015

    4-H shooting club

    The 4-H Shooting Sports Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the New Haven Gun Club.

    4-H Livestock Club

    The 4-H Livestock Club will meet on Monday, October 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LaRue County Extension Office. Youth wanting to show livestock next summer must complete a minimum of six educational hours. New members with an interest in livestock are encouraged to attend.
