Carlos Cox has been transferred to rehab at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The 151st annual session of the General Association of Kentucky Baptists will convene this week at the Convention Center in Bowling Green. This Sunday morning, First Baptist will fellowship with Lane Lincoln. Sunday, August 7, will be the Church Anniversary and Annual Homecoming at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Campbellsville. Sunday, August 14 will be our 136th Church Anniversary and Annual Homecoming during morning services.
In wake of the news surrounding the recent police shootings, Hodgenville American Legion Post #87 will be hosting an appreciation dinner for local law enforcement, civil servants and other emergency responders.
The appreciation dinner is Saturday, August 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hodgenville American Legion. The meal is free for all LaRue County law enforcement, civil servants and other emergency responders that are in uniform. The cost of the meal for everyone else is $10 each.
Warm Blessings is gearing up for their ninth Cardboard Nation “Sleep in a Box” fundraiser and awareness event scheduled for the third Friday in September. Linda Funk, Warm Blessings Executive Director is pictured handing a box, which will be used at the event to Lowe’s employee, Jerome Maynard. Lowe’s has supported the fundraiser each year by saving big boxes to be used by Cardboard Nation participants as they spend a night in a box to recognize the challenges of poverty and homelessness.
