    Santa’s Helpers Toy drive

  • Speaker talks about Pearl Harbor at DAR meeting

    The Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter of DAR met December 9 at the Brown Pusey House in Elizabethtown. Pianist Joyce Cowley and Vocalist Elizabeth Ray presented a wonderful program of Christmas and inspirational music at ”Christmas at the Brown Pusey House”.

  • Lewis, Skaggs receive Funeral Director’s License

    On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, Sid Lewis and Trevor Skaggs both successfully passed the Kentucky State Board Exam to be a Licensed Funeral Director.

    Sid resides in Hodgenville with his wife, Judy. He has been affiliated with Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home and Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home since April of 2014.

    Trevor is the son of Todd and Melinda Skaggs of Hodgenville. He has been affiliated with Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home and Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home all of his life.

    Thought for the week: No one is ever old enough to know better!

    Snow flurries on December 9 with what seems like sub zero temperatures, all before first day of winter. That is enough for me, I can move on out and be done with it, just saying.

    Last Friday night was our monthly girls night out with Sandy Ray, Tina Ray, Shannon Ray Whidden and Amy Lesniewski. We went to Mega Caverns Christmas lights under Louisville Zoo. I really enjoyed it and then went to Marks Feed store for supper. I had a great time with everyone.

    Congratulations to BK Smith for being named the MVP at the Annual Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football game at St. Xavier (ST. X) High School Sunday. He is the grandson of Mary E. Smith of Hodgenville, who is a resident at Sunrise Manor nursing home.
