    and Onion Salad

    4 large cucumbers sliced

    1 large onion, slice 1 cup miracle whip

    1 cup miracle whip

    4 tsp vinegar

    1/2 cup sugar

    1/4 tsp salt


    Place cucumber and onions in bowl, mix the next four ingredients together, pour over cucumber and onions, do not stir. Put in refrigerator and stir before serving. As you take cucumber and onions out, just add more to bowl and keep in fridge. Keeps in refridgerator for week or two.

    The Garden Club of Elizabethtown had their June meeting on Thursday, June

    4, 2015. Approximately 40 members from Elizabethtown, Radcliff,

    Rineyville, Glendale and Hodgenville attended. New member, Bonnie Stone,

    was welcomed. Beverly Goodman, Ruth Johnson and Rita Robbins were the

    hostesses. Bev Goodman, Co-First Vice-President, introduced this month’s

    program and speaker: “Accessorizing Your Garden” by Jeff Wallitsch from

    Fundraisers at Sunrise Manor

    Sunrise Manor is holding several fundraisers to raise money to send to elders on a trip to Walt Disney World. All proceeds go toward the trip. The fundraisers are:

    July 16, Loaded Nacho’s or French Fries

    July 17, Community Bingo at the Sunrise Manor Therapy Gym

    July 20-24, Silent Auction in the front lobby of Sunrise Manor

    July 21, Bake Sale located in the Sunrise Manor front lobby.

  • Family Reunion: July 1, 2015

    The Elmore Family Reunion will be held on July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new Greensburg Fire House in Greensburg. The reunion includes descendants of William and Hester Elmore as well as descendants of Peter and Elizabeth Elmore.

    There will be a buffet lunch with chicken provided. Bring a side dish and all other items will be provided. Also, bring your old photos and family stories.

    Are you aware that illnesses from Salmonella spike in the summer? And that the overwhelming majority of hospitalizations from Salmonellosis occur in children under 5 years of age?

    Recognize the symptoms: abdominal cramps or tenderness, fever and diarrhea. A child might show these symptoms of gastroenteritis in a range from 12 to 72 hours.
