  • Cox selected as Nationwide employee of the month

    Takosha Cox has been selected as October Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform.

    She has been employed with Nationwide since November 2005 and is under the supervision of Lucille Riggs in the jacket department. She will receive a special award for her service.

  • Kyle Williamson sworn in

    Kyle Williamson traveled to the capitol building in Frankfort on Oct. 23 where he was sworn in as a new lawyer.

    Williamson is a 2009 graduate of The Salmon P. Chase College of Law and a 2002 graduate from LaRue County High School. He attended the University of Kentucky where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2006.

    He is the son of Mike and Kathy Williamson and the grandson of the late Walter “Bo” and Margaret Williamson and Katherine and the late Bobby Chaudoin.

    He plans to open an office in Hodgenville soon.

  • IRS offers ‘Where’s My Refund’

    The Internal Revenue Service is looking for 921 Kentucky taxpayers who are due to receive a combined $838,000 in the form of refund checks that were returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service due to mailing address errors.

  • Hornback completes ROTC Leader’s Training

    James S. Hornback has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader’s Training Course at Fort Knox.

    The four-week course is a leadership internship for cadets that can lead to the ultimate goal of becoming an Army officer. College students experience and examine the Army without incurring an obligation to serve in the Army or ROTC, and are eligible to receive two-year college scholarship offers and attend the Advanced ROTC Course at their college.

  • Local attorney serves on ECTC commission

    Hodgenville attorney Robert K. Claycomb has been appointed to the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College nominating commission to serve through April 15, 2013.

    Gov. Steve Beshear announced the appointment Friday.

  • Sunrise Manor celebrations

    Sunrise Manor recently celebrated numerous milestones and events.

    Employees competed in a Halloween costume contest in October.

    In November several residents and employees celebrated birthdays.

    Employee service recognitions were given to Diane Curry for 25 years of service and Mary Rose Thompson for five years of service.

     

  • Adoption seminars set for Nov. 20-21

    Adoption Support for Kentucky, 916 N. Mulberry St., Elizabethtown, will hold seminars Nov. 20-21.

    “Training and support on Guardianship and SSI” will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. Sandra Mahoney from Adult Protection will speak.

    “Training and Support on Transitioning Youth Into Adulthood” will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.

    Child care and refreshments provided at both sessions.

    Adoption Support is accepting donations for the foster/adoptive children’s Christmas Party.

  • Children's author holds book signing Saturday

    Michael A. Crain will be at Lincolns Loft 1-3 p.m. Nov. 21 for a book signing.

    Crain’s book “Babbott and Babboo,” is about two fun-loving monkeys and their adventures.

    Crain, the son of Agnes Crain and the late George H. Crain Sr., resides in Glasgow, but grew up on a farm in Buffalo with 10 siblings. He is an Army veteran of the Persian Gulf, Desert Shield/Desert Storm with the 101st Airborne Division.
