The LaRue County Public Library has several new books and DVDs for loan.

AARP is offering a driver safety program 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 20 at the LaRue County Extension Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. The class includes four hours of instruction time and will have a lunch break, on your own. The class is all indoors and doesn’t involve a road test or a written test.
Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. To register, call the Extension Office at 358-3401. Payment is requested by check-only at the class, made out to AARP. Please bring your driver’s license and AARP card.

Ancestral Trails to meet
Ancestral Trails Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. July 6 at the Hardin County Public Library, 100 Jim Owen Drive, Elizabethtown. From there, they will visit the Elizabethtown City Cemetery where Steve Mather will demonstrate and discuss what can be learned from grave dowsing. For more information, call 270-862-3209.
Candy Vincent was the winner of a $20 gift certificate from Lincolns Loft for the LaRue County Public Library’s adult summer reading program. Another drawing for a $20 certificate will be held on July 31. The more books you read, the more entries you have.
