The South Fork Area Homemakers met Dec. 19 at the LaRue County Extension Office.
Present were 15 members: Virginia Allen, Delores Bale, Janice Bowen, Julie Devore, Exie Elliott, Ann E. Flanders, Emogene Gardner, Hazel Hodges, Mary Lois Hornback, Clovis Johnson, Billie Shahayda, Linda Simmons, Della Thomas, Doris Jean Holleran and Patsy Thomas.
Hostesses were Doris Jean Holleran and Ann E. Flanders.
A dance will be held 7-10 p.m. Dec. 23 at the LaRue County Senior Center. The Prime Time Band will perform with musicians Jim Walters, Ronnie Priddy, Leroy Sherrard, Larry Seelye, Doug Gary and Joyce Oliver. For more information, call 737-5655.

Courtney Murray, a teacher at Hodgenville Elementary School, has earned the highest credential available to American educators by becoming a National Board Certified Teacher through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
National Board Certification is achieved through a rigorous, performance-based assessment of a teacher’s skills and content knowledge.
The certification takes one to three years to complete.
The Hospice Thrift Shoppe Holiday Bazaar netted more than $5,000 to benefit Hosparus patients and their families. Above, Shelby Sanford, a seventh grade student at East Hardin Middle School, took a break from volunteering her time at the Shoppe for Beta Club to hang out with Santa for a bit.
The Hardin & LaRue Diabetes Coalition will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 3 at the LaRue County Extension Office. It is open to anyone with interest in early diagnosis, reduction of complications, prevention and elimination of diabetes.
The group will not meet if schools are closed due to weather.
