The Benningfields‚ Ashley, Brittany and Ron‚ will perform in concert at 2 p.m. June 2 at Pleasant Ridge Separate Baptist Church.
Brittany, Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Kentucky and 2003 alumnus from LaRue County High School, has been invited to perform the role of “Alice” in Verdi’s opera “Falstaff” at the prestigious Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan, this summer.
About 200 people attended Saturday’s 50th year celebration of LaRue County Water District No. 1.
Current and past employees and commissioners, customers and well-wishers enjoyed porkburgers and hotdogs at Buffalo Baptist Church’s annex, just a few hundred yards from the water district’s office.
LaRue County Judge/executive Tommy Turner made a few remarks, providing background and history of the water district.
William Steve Wright completed advanced IRA distribution training at Ed Slott and Company’s recent Elite IRA Advisor Group Workshop on May 2-4, in Dallas, Texas.
Covering recent updates such as the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 and the Health Care Law’s tax consequences, Wright joined over 200 of the nation’s top financial professionals who are dedicated to solving the country’s biggest and most complex financial problem — effectively managing the distribution of assets from Individual Retirement Arrangements.
The following is Hodgenville Mayor Terry Cruse’s summation of fiscal year ending 2013.
First of all, I am pleased to announce that once again as the City approaches the end of our fiscal year 2012-2013 we are going to close well within our proposed budget restraints. Our income and expenses fall closely within our proposed budget adopted almost 12 months ago.
During the past year we were able to achieve several improvements to the City such as:
Hodgenville City Council held first reading Monday of a $1,234,950 million budget ordinance for fiscal year ending June 30, 2014.
Anticipated funds include $336,300 from occupational taxes; $296,000 from city taxes; $285,000 from insurance premium surtax; and $48,900 miscellaneous government aid.
General fund expenditures include $486,990 for police; $489,510 for capital outlay; $55,250 for fire department, debt and outlay; $25,000 for park and recreation; and $78,200 for Red Hill Cemetery (which is expected to be offset by revenue or carryover).
