    Slayton Reunion

    The Slayton Reunion will be held September 18, 2016 at 12:30 in the Senior Citizens Building in Hodgenville. Bring covered dishes, drinks and desserts as well as serving utensils. We will be making the decision as to whether to continue the reunions due to declining interest. With a few exceptions, this reunion has been taking place for 65 years.   • Magnolia Bank adds to their leadership team

    Eric Garrett, Chairman of the Board of Magnolia Bank has announced the employment of Scott T. Conway as Chief Executive Officer of Magnolia Bank, effective immediately.

    Conway brings a 26 year banking career to Magnolia from PNC Bank and First Citizens Bank of Elizabethtown, rising to the position of Chief Executive Officer of First Citizens in 2010.

    Conway received his undergraduate degree in finance and marketing from Georgetown College and Masters in Business Administration from Bellarmine University.

    Thought for the week: The best way to be happy is to turn the negative into positive. Don’t let anyone steal your joy and be thankful for what you have.

    I’m having big email issues and that is why I haven’t had a Hodgenville News column or Cooking Corner in recently. It says it was sent, but I don’t find out till past the deadline that it is stuck out in space somewhere. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

    Congratulations to Larry and Vicki Curry on their 40th anniversary on August 13th.
