Anthony and Stephanie Jensen of Magnolia are proud to announce the birth of a son, Anden Leo Wayne Jensen. Anden was born 2:28 a.m. July 16, 2011. He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.
Grandparents are Jerry and Kathy Evans of Magnolia and Steven and Shawn Filkins of Scottsville.
Great-grandparents are Pee Wee and Erma Evans, Richard and Shirley Chelf and Barbara Gerratt.
A new Miss LaRue County Fair will be selected Monday, July 25 as the 104th LaRue County begins in full swing.
However, the new queen may not be from LaRue County. The Fair Board, following the example of other county fairs, is opening the pageant to the state. As long as the contestant lives in Kentucky, she is eligible for the crown and to contend for a state title, according to Fair Board President Ann “Snookie” Morrison.
If a non-LaRue Countian is crowned, a local contender will be named “Miss LaRue County” as well.
The annual Wheeler reunion was July 10, 2011, at LaRue County Sportsman’s Club in Hodgenville.

Michelle Ogden is the new district coordinator for the LaRue County Conservation District. She began full-time duties June 13.
She manages the North Lincoln Boulevard office, located in the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance office.
“I’ll coordinate district programs and activities for the soil conservation board,” Ogden said.
Gary and Joyce Reynolds of Magnolia are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Courtney Beth Reynolds, to Robert Andrew Bowling, son of John Carroll and Lora Bowling of Lyons Station.
The bride to be is a 2006 graduate of LaRue County High School and a 2010 graduate of University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She works as a registered nurse in the emergency department at University Hospital in Louisville.

Stephanie House has been named resource development coordinator for United Way of Central Kentucky.
House, a Rineyville native, graduated from Bellarmine University in May. She will travel in LaRue, Hardin, Meade, Grayson and Breckinridge Counties, “making sure people know we’re here and they are getting the help they need.”
United Way works with groups that assist with income, health and education.
