  • Construction at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP

    A construction project to repair the foundation of the park Visitor Center is taking place at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP. The project started January 2, 2017 and is expected to run through March 2017.

    As a result of this construction, the accessible board walk and public restrooms at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP will be closed until further notice. Parking spaces directly in front of the Visitor Center will also be closed through the duration of this project. Portable toilets are available to the public.

    Friends of the Library

    The LaRue County Friends of the Library meet at the library at 5 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.

    Library Story Time

    The LaRue County Public Library will have story time twice a month on the first and third Friday of each month in 2017 at 1 p.m. For more information call Crystal at the library at 270-358-3851.

    Project Graduation

    Premiere Jewelry Bunco beginning 6:30 p.m. January 26 in the LaRue Co HS Cafeteria. Cost to play is $10.00. Winners win money to purchase Premiere Jewelry pieces. Proceeds benefit Project Graduation. For more info, contact Rachel Phillips 270-766-7834.

    Peeler Cards are being sold through January 25. Cost is $10.00 per card.  There is $250 worth of savings from local businesses and surrounding counties as well listed on the peeler card. Contact any LCHS graduating senior to purchase one or contact Karen Cooper at 270-304-9212.

    LaRue County Relay for Life fundraisers

    Parkway Peeps are selling bags of peanuts from Texas Roadhouse for $3 each and they are available at Bird on a Wire.

    Living Strong has plastic Relay for Life Pigs to adopt. Take them on your travels, decorate, and feed them change all benefiting Relay. Contact Kathy Ross at 270-234-3309.

    Judy Chestnut was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital this week and she is now a resident of Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. Rex Thompson was recently admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital.
