  • Birth: Maci Fortune

    Tiffany R. and Jeremy R. Fortune, of New Hope, announce the birth of a daughter, Maci, Nov. 19, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Scott and Jody Maynard, of New Haven. Paternal grandparents are Lorri and Marian Adams, of Bardstown, and Chuck Fortune, of Upton. Great-grandparents are Martha and Wayne Shuffitt, of Lebanon Junction, and Cora and Chester Spencer, of Boston.

    The baby was welcomed home by two brothers, Hunter, 3, and Waylon, 1.

  • Birth: Caroline Michelle Scott

    Brandon and Ashley Scott of Gleanings announce the birth of their daughter, Caroline Michelle.

    She was born Oct. 25, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    Maternal grandparents are Scotty and Robin Lee of Hodgenville. Paternal grandparents are George and Ruth Scott of Raywick.

    Great grandparents are Lois Hay of Eastview; Billy and Joyce Lee of Hodgenville; and Mary Dowell of Ekron.

  • Wedding: Brittany and Justin Crewz

    Kevin and Melissa Hornback of Upton and Gary and Sharon Crewz of Sonora announce the marriage of their children.  

    The bride, Brittany Hornback, is the granddaughter of the late Jane and Jessie Dennis, and the late Edward and Dorthy Hornback. She is an employee of Subway in Sonora.  

    The groom, Justin Crewz, is the grandson of Sue Crewz of Sonora and the late Jerry Crewz; and Randall and Shirley Ramsey of Sonora. He is an employee of AGI. 

    The wedding was Dec. 7, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Sonora.

  • Relay for Life: Team and sponsorship search

     LaRue County’s Relay for Life is looking for additional teams for the May 16, 2014, event at Hodgenville Elementary. To date, five teams have confirmed membership for the event’s $60,500 countywide goal including Nationwide’s Circle of Friends, Freedom Angels, Living Strong, Becky’s Team and Veirs Crew “Keeping the Faith.”
