Bluegrass Pipeline meeting
An informational open house about the “Bluegrass Pipeline” will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at the LaRue County Public Library, 201 S. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville.
Friends and family gathered on Friday and Saturday to say goodbye to Paul Dameron, who had worked at Campbellsville University for 30 years.
Last Wednesday, Dameron died while driving home from his job.
According to Campbellsville Police, Dameron was traveling south on KY 55 at 3:40 p.m. Witnesses told police they saw Dameron’s vehicle begin to slow, drift into the other lane of traffic and up an embankment, where it came to rest.
Prime Time Band to perform
A dance will be held 7-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the LaRue County Senior Citizens Center, 112 N. Walters Ave., Hodgenville. The Prime Time Band will perform. For more information, call Jim Walters at 737-5655 or 766-4437.
Kentucky Public Retirees to meet
Kentucky Public Retirees, Lincoln Trail Chapter, will meet 11:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at Ryan’s Family Steak House, 1034 Executive Drive, Elizabethtown. Stephanie Heller from Humana Insurance Company will be the guest speaker.
Angelina Suzann McCoy of Bellevue, and Claudio Andres Toro Serey of Fort Thomas were married July 13, 2013, at Georgetown Baptist Church, Georgetown.
The bride is the daughter of W.L. and Suzann McCoy of Hodgenville and the granddaughter of Frances Chelf McCoy of Elizabethtown. She is a graduate of LaRue County High School and a 2010 graduate of Georgetown College with a B.A. degree in art. She is a visitor services assistant at the Cincinnati Art Museum and will be a teaching assistant at the University of Cincinnati in the Art History Graduate Program in the fall.
The deadline to enter the annual photo contest sponsored by The LaRue County Herald News is noon, Friday, Aug. 2.
Only digital photos are being accepted. They can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or brought to our office on a camera card, CD or memory stick. Our office is located at 40 Shawnee Drive, Hodgenville.
There is no charge to enter and the judges’ favorite photos will be published in a special section in August.
