A display of horticulture specimens is set up in the tearoom, with a member available to answer questions. New to this year’s event will be a fairy garden display. With admission to the tea, a map is provided to the individual gardens on tour.
Motorists who refuse to wear their seat belts – beware. The national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization kicked off May 20.
“Too many drivers and passengers on the road at night are not wearing their seat belts, and it all too often ends in tragedy,” said Hodgenville Police Chief Steven Johnson. “Our goal is to save more lives, so Hodgenville Police Department will be out enforcing seat belt laws – day and night.”
Two family members have identified some of the old photos published in the May 8 edition of The LaRue County Herald News. The photos were found in a house now owned by Greg and Bonnie Ballard.
Bobby Glenn’s daughter, Lindsey Burgess Perkins, and another relative, Josh French said the “gentleman sitting in a chair” is Robert Lee Rogers (1898-1969), the father of Bobby Glenn.
The “lady on the porch” is Bobby Glenn Rogers’ mother, Sue Bloyd Rogers (1902-1982).
