Hardin Memorial Hospital is mobilizing a flu clinic on its Wellness on Wheels mobile health unit this week to combat the widespread presence of influenza in its service area.
The clinic is from 7:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 in the Elizabethtown Wal-Mart parking lot. Michelle Murphy, director of marketing and public relations for HMH, said 300 adult doses of the flu vaccine will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis for anyone age 18 or older.

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness and at times can lead to death. Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated.
