Allison Shepherd, general manager of The LaRue County Herald News, presented a check for $335 to Kathy Ross, Survivor chairperson for LaRue County Relay for Life. The newspaper collected donations for “in memory of” and “in honor of” ads for those who have battled cancer.

Wayne and Barbara Wilcoxson celebrated their 60-year anniversary May 19, 2013.
They were honored by their children, Mike Wilcoxson, Sheila Skaggs, Della Loyall and Wendell Wilcoxson; and several grandchildren.
Clifford and Mary Lou Humes Owen of Hodgenville, will celebrate their 60th anniversary on May 22, 2013.
They married on May 22, 1953, at Upton Baptist Church Parsonage, Upton, by Rev. J. E. Darter.
Mary Lou is the daughter of the late Bill and Alva Humes of Upton and a member of South Fork Homemakers Club and Eastern Star.
Clifford is the son of the late Lennie and Ethel Owen of Magnolia.
He retired after 25 years with Dow Corning and farmed in the Magnolia area. He is an avid gardener.

The bride to be is the granddaughter of Randall and Shirley Ramsey, and Sue and the late Jerry Crewz, all of Sonora. She is a 2006 graduate of LaRue County High School and an employee of Premier Home Care.

The Elizabethtown, Hardin, LaRue Retired Teachers’ Association will have the last meeting of the 2012-13 year at 11:30 a.m. May 16, in the atrium of Severns Valley Baptist Church, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown.
