Volunteers needed for Hosparus
Hosparus of Central Kentucky is looking for volunteers to make lap quilts (about 3’X4’) for patients as part of the CARE blanket program. The Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives as well as the Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust are teaming up this year to award eight children in Kentucky each a $1,000 scholarship through this year’s Summer Reading Program.
“We Dig Summer Reading and Saving for College” will be available at participating libraries – including LaRue County – across the state.
All entries for the scholarships must be postmarked by Aug. 16 and received by Aug. 23.
Dr. David Woody and Dr. Lisa Sloan Woody, optometrists with Bardstown Eye Care Center, attended the Kentucky Optometric Association’s 111th Annual Spring Educational Congress in April at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington.
They attended lectures on the latest updates in eye care and disease. The conference also included an exhibit hall featuring the latest products and services.
The Woodys reside with their son, Matthew Thomas, in Bardstown, where they both began practicing optometry in 1993.
