A concert to benefit abused and neglected children in Kentucky will be held 7:30 p.m. May 12.
Rick Price, Australian singer and songwriter, will perform at Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center, 384 W.A. Jenkins Road, Elizabethtown. Price’s album, “Heaven Knows” produced several top-40 hits including “Not a Day Goes By” and the title track.
Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) of the Heartland is sponsoring the event.
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Fine Arts Committee will present the spring concert of the ECTC Concert Band and the ECTC Choristers 7 p.m. April 24 in the Morrison Gallery in the Owen (Administration) Building of the college. The concert is free and the public is invited.
Are you at risk for diabetes? Everyone should be aware of the risk factors for type 2 diabetes. People who are overweight, under active (living a sedentary lifestyle) and over the age of 45 should consider themselves at risk for the disease. African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and people who have a family history of the disease also are at an increased risk for type 2 diabetes.
As a part of our community’s preparation for LaRue County’s Relay for Life event on May 11-12 at Hodgenville Elementary School, the local Relay for Life Committee is recognizing individual cancer survivors and some of the volunteers. This week, some of the children who volunteer for Relay are featured.

By decreasing the amount of water we use, we can also save energy, and reduce utility costs. The following tips are simple, inexpensive ways to save water in the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.
