    Communion Sunday was Sunday, February 7 for Lane Lincoln and First Baptist. Reverend Wilkinson was the morning speaker for services at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

    County Quilt Club

    The County Quilt Club will meet monthly at the LaRue County Extension Office in Hodgenville on the second Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring a project to work on or any recent quilt work to show and share. Next meeting is February 10 and it is open to everyone.

    Formal Wear Consignment

    The Green County Junior Miss Committee is having a formal wear consignment sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday February 6. The fee is $5 per dress, $3 for shoes and jewelry and the seller sets their price and keeps all proceeds of the items sale.   • Magnolia Bank elects new board chairman

    Ron Sanders, President and Chief Executive Officer of Magnolia Bank announced the election of Eric Garrett as Chairman of the Board of Magnolia Bank at the January 28, 2016 meeting of the board.

    Eric succeeds James Mason, who did not seek re-election to focus on Magnolia Bank’s new captive insurance company and holding company business. Eric has served on the board since 2005. In addition to serving as Chairman, Eric serves on the Executive, Loan, Asset/Liability, Audit, Secondary Market and Compensation committees of the Bank.

    Alex Bush has been selected as the January Employee of the Month for Nationwide Uniform. Alex has been employed with Nationwide since September of 2013 and is currently under the supervision of Ricky Kessinger in the cutting department. Alex will receive a special award for his dedication and service.

    A Valentine’s Day Dance will take place Friday, February 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the LaRue County Senior Center

    Nationwide Uniform Corporation is proud to announce that Martha Rose was selected as Employee of the Year for 2015. Martha has been employed with Nationwide since April 25, 1995. She is currently in the jacket department. She received a special award for her dedication and service at our annual Christmas program on December 23, 2015.
