  • Air Evac Lifeteam: 2013 Base of the Year

    Campbellsville’s Air Evac Lifeteam base and two of its employees were recently honored with regional awards. The base has been selected as the company’s 2013 Region 2 Base of the Year. Region 2 consists of Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Kentucky, Ohio, parts of Tennessee and West Virginia.

    In addition, Tom Lecompte was named Region 2 Pilot of the Year, and Lanny Thompson was named Region 2 Mechanic of the Year.

  • Hosparus needs volunteers

    Hosparus needs volunteers in the Central Kentucky area and will offer a free training session 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 22 at its Elizabethtown office at 105 Diecks Dr. for patient support. Lunch is included. Hosparus volunteers must be in good health, have available transportation and complete a training and application process.

    Justin Scott Ward and Karen Michelle Rice were united in marriage June 29, 2013, at My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown.

    Karen, the daughter of Glen and Peggy Rice, is a teacher in the LaRue County School System, teaching fourth-grade at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.

    Justin, the son of Billy Ward and Linda Slayton, is a realtor for Remax Executive Group, Inc.  

    The couple resides in LaRue County.
