Walk to end Alzheimer’s
The Lincoln Trail Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Sept. 14 at Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown.
Hodgenville Police Chief Steve Johnson and several other officers from surrounding communities participated in Saturday’s Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Benefit Ride.
The event, hosted by the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Chapter 11, drew between 200 and 300 motorcyclists.
The riders honored their fellow officers who died in the line of duty: Officer Mark Taulbee, Hodgenville Police Department; Chief Herbert Proffitt, Tompkinsville Police Department; and Deputy Anthony Rakes, Marion County Sheriff Department.
Linda Funk, executive director of Warm Blessings and Lowe’s employee Karen Fordham, are working together for the sixth annual Cardboard Nation event.
Funk is arranging with Fordham for Lowe’s staff to save larger refrigerator and freezer boxes for the Warm Blessings upcoming sixth annual Cardboard Nation event.

Saint Catherine alumni reunion
Saint Catherine Alumni Association of New Haven will hold a reunion 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 18 for all students who attended elementary or high school at Saint Catherine.
