    Grief Support Group
    The Grief Support Group will be offered 3-4:30 p.m. July 18 at Hospice of Nelson County office, 202 W. Stephen Foster, Bardstown. The free group is led by a Hospice social worker. For information, call 502-350-5570.
     

  • Yard sale to benefit veteran's family

    Chris and Silke Schmittou, of Magnolia, met while Chris was still enlisted in the U.S.  Army.

    Originally stationed in Germany, Chris was deployed to Iraq to help fight in the War on Iraq. After serving for five years, Chris was forced to retire due to significant injuries to his hip.

    Now 37, Chris, his wife and four children live life as comfortably as possible. Due to his injury, Chris has difficulty walking as the wound still causes him to have severe pain in his knee.

  • Legal Aid Clinics

    The Legal Aid Society, 416 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville, will hold free legal clinics in July, August and September. Each session will be held at that location unless otherwise stated.
    A reservation for each clinic is required. Contact the Legal Aid Society at (502) 584-1254 to make your reservation.

    Awesome Events and the LaRue County Fairgrounds will have a spaghetti dinner and karaoke 4-9 p.m. July 18. Dinner will include spaghetti with meat sauce, salad and garlic bread for $5.99. Karaoke is 6-9 p.m. For more information, call Marie at 270-325-3041.

  • Hunt graduates from EKU

    Eastern Kentucky University recognized 1,708 graduates at the conclusion of the spring semester.

    Local EKU graduates include Kristopher R. Hunt of Sonora, who earned a bachelor’s degree in music.

  • WEDDING: Dockery

    Danielle Lee Lobb and Eddie Ray Dockery, both of Buffalo, were married July 14, 2013, at Rough River State Park. Roy Dockery presided.

    The bride is the daughter of Denny Lobb of Green County and Cyndi Lyons of LaRue County. She is an employee of Bullfrogs and Butterflies Child Development Center LLC.

    The groom is the son of Roy and Lyris Dockery of Morgantown. He is an officer with the Hodgenville Police Department.

    Their children, Bryson Elisha Lewis and Holly Dockery, were in attendance.

    A reception followed the ceremony.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Price - Reynolds

    Jamie Allison Price of Hodgenville and Kristopher Quinn Reynolds of Munfordville announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride to be is the daughter of Mark And Tracy Price of Hodgenville, and Chris and Lisa Smith of Buffalo. She is a 2012 graduate of LaRue County High School and an employee of Citizens First Bank.

    The prospective groom is the son of Dean Reynolds of Bonnieville, and John and Cheryl Clay of Munfordville. He is a 2009 graduate of Hart County High School and an employee of Dart Container.
