You can enjoy your meals while making small adjustments to the amounts of food on your plate. Healthy meals start with more vegetables and fruits and smaller portions of protein and grains. And don’t forget dairy — include fat-free or low-fat dairy products on your plate, or drink milk with your meal.
Use a smaller plate at meals to help with portion control. That way you can finish your entire plate and feel satisfied without overeating.

Amanda and Adam Higginbotham of Lexington are pleased to announce the birth of a daughter, Lucy Danielle, on Feb. 5, 2010.
Lucy weighed 7 pounds and was 20 1/4-inches long.
She is welcomed home by a sister, Claire.
Maternal grandparents are Linda and Bud Ireland of Hodgenville; and Roger and Elaine Parker of Pennsylvania. Paternal grandparents are Charlene and Ken Kuykendall of Alabama and the late Jim Higginbotham.
Maternal great-grandparents are the late Donald Gene and France Powell; and Aubrey and Marie Parker, all of Hodgenville.

Emily B. of Antigo, Wis., is the Grand Prize Winner of the fourth annual Martha White Muffin Mix Challenge for her Ultimate Ice Cream Sandwich Emily will receive the $5,000 Grand Prize for her creative recipe entry.
Emily turned to her waffle iron to create the Ultimate Ice Cream Sandwich using Martha White Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix to create warm, chocolaty waffles to sandwich scoops of creamy, vanilla ice cream. The waffles and ice cream are topped off with hot fudge and chopped peanuts to create the “ultimate” indulgence for kids and adults alike.
